Pit Pony

On Thursday 13 December the fourth and final Pit Pony event took place, starting at 7.00pm. Following a
series of screenings and live interventions in The Macbeth last spring, Pit Pony returned for a Christmas special…featuring two new live works. Programmed by Michael Gillespie

7.30pm Truce
a project by emmanuelle waeckerle
performed by Emmanuelle Waeckerle and Nick Wilson
Original music composed by Nick Wilson Duration between 40 minutes and 1 hour
Truce is a new performance piece by Emmanuelle Waeckerle in collaboration with Nick Wilson, a tenor & composer. Waeckerle and Wilson, using their distinctive voices, contemplate the simple yet loaded terms HOME and HOLE in an attempt to find meaning and common territory. The performance had no easy outcome as questions of gender and inter-disciplinarity come into play. The event only concluded once a truce was reached (Taking place in the gallery with a video feed into The Macbeth).

8.30pm Nativity - Live
A Constructed World
Jacqueline Riva + Geoff Lowe

Jacqueline Riva and Geoff Lowe have been working together for the last few years under the name of 'A Constructed World'. Through their publishing and exhibition work, Riva and Lowe explore the possibilities of collaboration and the expertise of the amateur.
For Pit Pony and their London debut, Riva and Lowe re-enacted the nativity, creating a live Warholian tableaux with sampled representations of Jesus, Mary and Joseph taken from contemporary pop music. Featuring Boo Boo the dog starring as a little lamb and an array of seasonal Londoners (Taking place in the gallery with a video feed into The Macbeth).
